For those ready to journey into the heart of the Alpine region, the 5 day Hercules will challenge and excite in equal measures with just under 100km and 4200 elevation gain.
Day 1 - 14.5km - 1431m ascent
After a shuttle to Mt Creek, your mission is to conquer Mt Bogong (1977m), the highest summit in the Victorian Alps. You will reach the highland plains and stay at Cleve Cole Hut for your first remote night.
Day 2 - 25km - 1092 ascent
The second day will be challenging as this is the longest with more 1000+ ascent! The journey continues along the AAWT downhill on the T-Spur until the Big River crossing, before tackling the climb of Duane Spur, passing Ropers Hut to Mt Nelse North. You will then continue all the way toward Falls Creek until you reach the campsite festivities at Wallace Hut.
Day 3 - 22km - 532m ascent
A long distance will be covered on the third day. You will pass through Mt Cope, around Mt Bundara & Mt Jim before descending to the historic Blair's Hut for the night gathering. This night will be shared with the hikers of the Pegasus format.
Day 4 - 17.8km 1062m ascent
The adventure continues uphill through Dibbins Hut to Mt Loch and then towards Silver Brumby Hut in Hotham for one final night and a gathering of the tribes. This night will be shared with the Orion and Pegasus highlanders.
Day 5 - 13.6km - 484 ascent
This day will be the final push with all highlanders reunited to the finish at Wire Plain, where you will look back on the adventure of a lifetime!
